Stella Natura 2025 Biodynamic Planting Calendar

Working with Cosmic Rhythms

Edited by Alex Tuchman

This Calendar has many aspects: a basic introduction to astronomy, a simple ephemeris, a planting guide, a star map, aid for following the movement of the planets in the night sky, and articles by ten different authors. All of these attempt to provide a true picture of the world outside us and ideas to assist in developing a healthy relation to that world.

Our New Articles Will Inspire and Guide

Writing in his introduction to this year's calendar, Alex Tuchman notes:

I am deeply humbled by all the wisdom that has come through this stream of star knowledge and feel the truth that "we stand on the shoulders of giants," as we reflect on all the threads of devoted humans who have contributed to our current understanding of cosmic influences (Stella) on earthly life (Natura).

It is with gratitude and joy that I fully step into this role as the new Editor of Stella Natura with the support of the amazing team here at Spikenard Farm Honeybee Sanctuary. Particularly Neelima Baird and Jody Keating deserve recognition for all of their heavy lifting and talented work, which has helped make possible the wonderful legacy of Stella Natura has its continuation within our biodynamic farm and non-profit organization. I certainly would not have been able to take this on without the sweet support of the whole hive!

Shared in this calendar are some basic astronomy that will help any curious stargazer develop their own relationship with the stars and understand the astronomical underpinnings of this Calendar. The research upon which the interpretations in these monthly charts are based, and suggestions of some potentially fruitful lines for the continue development of this new science of the stars.
