Robin Brekken: Achieving Large-Scale Organic Crop Quality
This northwest Minnesota farmer transitioned his 3,300-acre family farm to organic production 15 years ago. He and his family have raised many crops including alfalfa, yellow corn, spring wheat, oats, barley, millet, rye, soybeans, navy beans and yellow field peas. Certified organic in 2001 after a difficult three-year transition, he now sees superb quality in alfalfa and other crops and utilizes many of the tools of modern ecological agriculture. In this presentation Robin Brekken shares his methods, difficulties and successes.
