Robert Plumb: Long-Term Eco-Farming Trials - Biology Wins Every Time
This eco-farming consultant from England will present long-term results from eco-farming systems as practiced in the U.K. Through seven years of replicated scientific trials comparing conventional vs. biological methods his group has found that biology wins every time. He will demonstrate that biological farming will improve the nutritional balance in the food we eat and it costs less to do so! So why don’t farmers do this?
Robert Plumb has been involved in soil and crop fertility in the UK since the early 1970s, working alongside some of the top UK soil scientists. He believes that it is imperative that we concentrate on getting the correct nutrition into all the food that we eat. Like many people here he agrees that the age of the chemical inputs used in farming is coming to a close and the biological revolution is showing improved soil fertility and crop nutritional values. Robert will be showing some of the measured results that he has seen over the past years. Robert is very proud of his company that employs and develops young, enthusiastic people working throughout the UK educating farmers on how to use the biological approach.
Recorded at the 2014 Acres U.S.A. Conference, Columbus, Ohio, Friday, December 5, 2014.
