Eliot Coleman: 50 Years of the Organic Adventure USB/CD
In his talk from the 2018 Eco-Ag Conference & Trade Show in Louisville, Kentucky, Eliot Coleman talks about the “promise and reality” of organic farming, and as he puts it, “The reality has been far greater than any promise.” Follow Mr. Coleman as he walks the listener through the early days of the new organic revolution starting in the 1970s, to the tactics that helped him become an industry leader and, more importantly, how he evolved his farm in the tough climate of Maine’s coast into one that allows him to supply healthy local food to his community every day of the year.
Mr. Coleman has more than 50 years experience in all aspects of organic farming, including field vegetables, greenhouse vegetables, rotational grazing of cattle and sheep, and range poultry. He is the author of The New Organic Grower (1st and 2nd editions), Four-Season Harvest, and The Winter Harvest Handbook, as well as the instructional workshop DVD Year-Round Vegetable Production with Eliot Coleman. Coleman and his wife, Barbara Damrosch, presently operate a commercial year-round market garden, in addition to horticultural research projects, at Four Season Farm in Harborside, Maine.
